Job Summary
Our Senior Manufacturing Technician will be responsible for assembling and testing specialized monitoring equipment for the Navy specifically in our Detectors area.
Job Responsibilities
Work from complex assembly drawings and written process instructions (e.g. router sheets)
Build electromechanical assemblies using precision and calibrated hand tools (e.g. calipers, micrometers, wire strippers, crimpers, torque wrenches, specialized fixtures)
Set up pneumatic and hydraulic test stands per procedures
Set up tests stands with multi-meters, frequency generators, amplifiers, gauss meters, Insulation Resistance and Dielectric Meters and data acquisition equipment from test specifications
Prepare Room Temperature Vulcanising (RTV), potting, paints and cements. Apply chemicals to assemblies.
Evaluate product returns for non-conformity to print and applicable test specifications
Execute in support of Key Performance Indicators:
Quality – reduce and eliminate defects, rework, etc.
Schedule – meet production deadlines
Budget – accurately complete jobs within allocated hours
Interpret and follow written documents such as International Organization for Standardization (ISO) procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Military Specifications (MILSPEC) and safety rules
Comply with all safety and regulatory requirements applicable to the company in accordance with State and Federal regulations and any applicable certification; required to maintain the certification
Work in Machine shop with lathes, milling machines, surface grinder, band saw, drill press and grinders
Work with high pressure nitrogen gas using precision metering valves
Job Responsibilities Part II
Able to work with minimal supervision and may provide guidance to other technicians
Interface with other departments (e.g. – Quality and Test) to assure efficient flow of information and materials
Able to adapt to a constantly changing work environment
Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
Qualifications
Requires an associate’s degree and 2+ years of experience in a technical discipline or equivalent experience in the field or in a related area
Must have excellent mechanical skills
Must be experienced in the safe handling of chemicals
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Lean Manufacturing experience, preferred
Experience with Deltek, a plus
Experience with military or defense industry, a plus
Winding coils experience, a plus
Spot welding experience, a plus
Brazing experience, a plus
Candidates must be a US citizen and meet DRS security standards as imposed by DoD, including the issuance of any necessary security clearance by the US government within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
